Bali Surfing Beach

Bali Surfing BeachCanggu and Berawa Beach
Canggu and Berawa is the coastal Bali as its best. Known for sunbathing and surfing, Canggu is for those looking for a quiet beach where the life is easy and relaxing. Traditional Balinese fishermen here still use the beach and sea for living-hood, it offers a unique view to behold. Canggu offers the visitors a double magnificent scene to see, a beautiful beach in front of you and mesmerizing rice fields complete with their wildlife – thousands of birds and butterflies are right behind you.

Dreamland Beach
Dreamland is the largest white sand beach on the western Bukit peninsula. For most Bali visitors Dreamland is a cool place to go for a beach afternoon, sip a juice in a local warung and forget about life for a while. Dreamland beach is similar in nature to the other beaches in Bukit Peninsula, but it is popular not only with the surfers, also with the beach lovers. It easy access combined with the presence of warungs serving BBQ seafood and cold beer make it attractive to anyone who just wants to get away from the hustle of Kuta life. During the normal day, it will be few people do the surf, but at the weekend this place is crowded. The area has a beautiful beach and panorama, with the high wave reaching 4 meters makes this place become a favorite place for surfers and boogie boards.

Geger Beach
Geger Beach is a refreshing beach to visit, quiet, relaxing and beautiful. Long waves rolled into the sea from offshore and the beach club looked like a great place to unwind with a drink. Unfortunately there was not time and Uluwatu Temple beckoned. Geger beach has clean yellow sand, decent clean water and small ripples rather than large waves. It is same for families with young kids and can be a pleasant change from Kuta/Legian/Semiyak Beach. Geger beach in Bali is one of those classic Indonesian beaches which draw holiday makers to Bali. It has gorgeous white sands and clear blue seas with rolling waves. Greger beach has it's own Beach Club from which you can hire a sun bed, order drinks, lie back and relax. Because of the rolling surf, Geger beach is popular with the surfing community. Most of those staying n Nusa Dua have no idea of this little gem just down the road, which remains a very relaxing beach in Bali.

Kuta beach
Kuta Beach has a turbulent history. It changed from a small village, to a popular destination for hippies and backpackers in the 70's and 80's, and then to a tourist ghetto. Kuta is a town in southern Bali, Indonesia.. It was a former fishing village, one of the first towns on Bali to see substantial tourist development, and as a beach resort remains one of Indonesia's major tourist destinations. It is known internationally for its long sandy beach, varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars, and substantial Australian population. It is located near Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport. They are somewhat quieter suburbs with cottage-style accommodations, where many of the expat crowd live. Also to the north are Legian, Seminyak, Petitenget, Berawa, Canggu, and Seseh - new and quieter continuations of Kuta's beach. Beside watching sunsets and surf, the other things that you may see or do here are shopping, watching performances of Balinese music and dance in Kuta, staged specially for tourists and anywhere else in Bali and some of them are staged nightly. If you're looking by night, various foreign and locally restaurant, clubs, pubs and bars start to fire up.

Padang Padang Beach
Padang Padang is located on the western side of the Bukit, after Impossibles and before Uluwatu. With only 25 minutest from Kuta, use the road towards Nusa Dua, turn off to Uluwatu road, past the Dreamland turn off, right hand turn towards Bingin, down hill to Padang Padang, to access the surf you have to walk past large chunks of lava rock and make your way to the right end of the beach. The large coral shelf is uncovered for the most part during low tide and is not recommended for surfing. Padang Padang has a beautiful wave but you have to be an advanced surfer to come here. The jagged reef is sometimes refered to as 'the cheese grater'. A couple of bamboo shacks are ready selling foods or even cold drink around the parking area. If you look for accommodation, there is plenty on the cliff tops overlooking surf breaks.

Medewi Beach
A sleepy traditional fishing village, away from the discos and the hectic traffic and over crowded surf spots of the southern areas of Bali. Located about 72 kilometers west of denpasar, the beach is flat, stony, and has long rolling waves, so it is very suitable for surfing and sunset watching. Because of its distance from Kuta and the absence of nightclubs or bars anywhere in the vicinity, there are never any problems with the high, long rolling waves of Medewi becoming crowded. The best surf is early in the mornings before the wind picks up. The biggest waves are in August when even the village’s fishermen don’t dare to go out. As is the case everywhere in Bali, the locals are friendly both in and out of the surf. As a bonus, Medewi’s spectacular sunsets and cool and quite tropical evenings add a touch of glamour. In the end, this sleepy surf mecca is a solitary traveller’s kind of place and in absolutely in no danger of becoming a hot spot!
